A Third Day at Sea in the North Atlantic

This Saturday morning was Bloody Mary Day at LaVeranda again.  I wasn't going to have one, but our favorite Jeremy was acting as the bartender and offered one, so I had to say yes.  I did request a very light one, which he did.

The morning lecture by Terry Bishop was "Carnage Off Iceland" about the sinking of the Bismarck.  He always makes any subject interesting.  That was followed by a Magic Workshop by Levent, the magician from the other night.  I found his workshop to be more fun than his show.  We learned some great simple tricks to show the grandkids, if we can remember them!

Lunch at the poolside grill was a Greek theme.  Our Captain, who is Greek, said it was just like his mother used to make.  Not sure about that, but it was very good.

Then in the afternoon, a little consultation with the IT helper on board, Raquel from Brazil.  I could no longer make wifi phone calls, which I had done earlier.  She did a bunch of things, one of which was clearing my cache, which cleared out my wonderful Wordle statistics.  Rats.  Now I'll just have to start all over.  In the end, we just did your basic turn it off and turn it on, and voila!  It now works.  Why didn't I think of that?

This afternoon was a lecture by Angela Schneider called "Forged by Fire & Ice" all about the landscape and culture of Iceland.  Some was a bit repetitive, but it was still most interesting.

There was a cocktail party for the "Upper Tier" passengers, which I think means those of us at the level of Platinum or above in the loyalty program.  The Captain said a few words and Terry Bishop sang some songs that he wrote, which are always fun.  Then it was off to dinner at Prime 7 where we had reservations at 6:30 for a sharing table.  We had to sneak out of the cocktail party a bit early so as not to keep the rest of the table waiting.  We were the last to arrive, but I don't think they had been there long.  We ate with Arthur and Debby from Palm Springs and Mark and Twilight from Houston.  They are all getting off in Rejkyavik.  I had a small portion of the famous popcorn sundae dessert, which was fabulous as was the beef tenderloin.

The show was a cast production of 50's and 60's music that was very well done and had the audience clapping and singing along.  Our kind of music.

Sunset tonight is 12:14 am and sunrise 4:19 am.  We also put our clocks ahead one hour again.
