We had an early tour (8:00 am) this morning. It was another tender port so there was a little delay. Our tour took us on a drive for about 45 minutes to Cardigan Castle. Wales is beautiful - rolling green hills with stone walls that reminded us of Ireland.
And we went through a couple of little villages with very narrow roads that were a challenge for our big bus, but the driver does this all the time, so no worries.
Cardigan Castle was originally built in the early 1100s but most of it has been redone a few times since then. The town grew around it.
It's a lovely little village. We watched a traffic jam on the High Street caused by a big truck that didn't pull over far enough and so no one could get by. There were about a dozen cars patiently waiting with no shouting or honking.

Today at trivia it was just Carl and me, but we did very well (12/16) since the theme of the questions was all about American history, this being the 4th of July. Carl's husband, Norman, died on the 5th day of the cruise of a heart attack. We talked a bit about how hard this has been for him, not only personally, but also the logistics of dealing with a death on a ship in a foreign country (Canada). He says he will probably finish the cruise since they had planned for it for so long, and because he is traveling with good friends (the others from trivia), he at least has support and can take the time to adjust before going home alone. He's been able to deal with Social Security and Norman's pension, and everything else can wait until he gets home.
Tonight the ship put on a special American barbecue for dinner by the pool and had the ship's band play Americana songs for a while. It was a fun time.
