While our 2020 World Cruise didn't turn out quite the way we planned, (131 days cut short at 52 days thanks to that darn coronavirus 😒) we learned that we can take long cruises, especially when those cruises are on Regent Seven Seas. So, now that we're willing to get back out into the world, we booked the 94-night Grand Arctic cruise which sails roundtrip from New York, from June 7 through September 9, 2022.
This is our ship, the Regent Seven Seas Navigator. Her capacity is 482 passengers and 345 crew. I'll update with actual numbers once we have sailed. Our cabin on the starbord side forward is circled in yellow.
And this is a map of our route roundtrip from New York.

Four of our packed bags were picked up by UPS for the Luggage Forward company on May 26 for delivery to the ship. They were delivered to the warehouse in Brooklyn the next day where they will remain until June 7. This is one of the perks offered on a "Grand Voyage" by Regent.
Since we have to show proof of a recent (within 48 hours) negative Covid test to board, we are crossing our fingers and toes that we get to sail. We're fully vaccinated plus 2 booster shots and had Covid in February, so we're as protected as we can be. We've practiced strong social distancing for the last few weeks, including not attending a neighborhood dinner, mingling with friends, or seeing the grandkids. We have appointments to be tested at a local Walgreens on June 5. If our Covid tests are negative, we're good to go!
We'll take Amtrak from Manassus, VA to NYC on June 6 and Regent is putting us up at the Plaza where there will be a "kickoff" dinner that night for those of us doing the whole Grand Voyage. Then transfers to the ship the next morning.

Very informative, thank you. m
