Greenock, Scotland

Last night was so smooth that I actually had to pay close attention when I woke during the night to see if I felt any movement. This morning we are in Greenock (pronounced "green-ock" just like it looks) which is the nearest port to Glasgow.  We had a panorama tour of Glasgow scheduled, but unfortunately, the bus broke down and so the tour was canceled.  The only available alternative was a bus transfer into Glasgow for 4 hours on your own, but we decided to pass on that and just walk around Greenock.  There isn't much here so that took only about an hour.  There were about 6 information volunteers outside the gates, but we might have been the only ones that they were there to help.  Almost everyone else was during tours.

James Watt (of electrical wattage fame) was born at this spot, albeit not in this building.

"Ginger", a rather interesting sculpture honoring the working horses of past years

After lunch back on the ship, we napped and watched a movie.  At 6 pm there was another lecture by Angela Schneider, "The Chameleon City" about Dublin.  And then we had dinner with Michael and Peggy from East Texas.  The show was a tribute to James Bond films, so not even a shot at us going to that.  Plus we have an early tour tomorrow.  We sailed at 7 pm for Dublin and so far the seas are calm again.
