On Our Way

We were given vouchers for breakfast so we went to the Palm Court where Michael had oatmeal and I had Eggs Benedict.  Delicious.  We were to meet in the lobby before 11:00 for our bus transfer to the ship.  They picked up any bags we didn't want to schlepp around from our room so we just had our carry-ons for the bus.  It was a short distance, but being New York it took 30 minutes.

As we were on our way, I got a nice Bon Voyage text from friends back home.  The photo gave me a chuckle.  Must have been at Tuesday morning coffee - a regular neighbor get-together at the local supermarket.

Check-in was smooth since we had everything ready for review:  passports, vaccination cards, negative Covid tests, the ARRCAN app was complete for Canada and we had the approval email for our Bermuda entry.

We were on board by noon and went up to La Veranda buffet for lunch.  We ate outside and the weather was perfect.  While waiting for our cabin to be ready we got coffees at the Coffee Connection and figured out the wifi.  The cabin was ready by 2:00 and all of our luggage was delivered by 3:30 so we were able to get all unpacked and organized by 5:00.  Sail away was just before 6:00 and we did a nice pass of the Statue of Liberty.

Dinner was at Compass Rose (the main dining room) and we saw a few familiar faces among the staff from our 2020 (Almost) World Cruise:  Nino (head of the restaurants), Marc (maitre d'), and Jeremy (waiter at the bars).  That was really nice.

The water is a bit rocky tonight, but that should make for good sleeping.
