At Sea in the Norwegian Sea

Finally, a sea day so we could sleep in until 8:00 am.  This morning Terry Bishop gave a talk on the Sami People, who are the indigenous peoples of this area.  There was a wonderful seafood buffet at La Veranda which really tested my goal of eating less.  The seas are pretty calm and we're even seeing a bit of sunshine at times.

This afternoon was the second talk by Lt. Col. Bill Rothschild all about the Space Shuttle programs of the US, Russia, and China. In trivia we had 10/15 but still came in 4th.  Tonight the show was a pre-dinner show at 6:00 pm since we arrive very early tomorrow and many tours leave early.  The pianist Panos Karan did his second show.  I'm sorry we missed his first show as he is fabulous, but the good news is that he will play again.

Along with Lois, Patrick and Carl, we were invited to dinner again with Alessandro, the General Manager, and Paul, the Cruise Director.  They both have wonderful senses of humor so it was a really fun time.  It was nice to get to know Paul a bit more.  He's not as outgoing publicly as Ray was, but I have a better sense of him now and find him very charming.  Alessandro will be leaving at the end of this segment in Amsterdam, but assures us that we will like his replacement, Michael, very much.

During dinner the sun came out in full force.  I think we may have no sunset at all tonight as we're above the Arctic Circle again - and we have another Certificate to prove it.
