At Sea in the North Sea

We woke to a gorgeous day - blue skies and calm seas.  It's hard to believe we have only a month left before our cruise ends in New York.

I can't upload photos of today's ocean on the ship's wifi, only when I have data on land, so I'll use this photo from Edinburgh as a substitute.

We lost an hour again and we slept in until almost 8:30 but we got dressed and had breakfast in time for the last talk by Lt. Col. Rothschild.  This time was about the things that have come out of NASA and spaceflights.  It was very interesting and informative.  Some of the things include WD-40, GPS, direct satellite communication, memory foam, super absorbent diapers, Velcro, Kevlar, robotic surgery, and air purifiers, just to name some.  There is a website (spinoff.nasa.gov) that highlights these and others.  I was surprised to learn that NASA's budget for FY22 is $24.7 billion, which is 0.4% of the Federal Budget and less than the IRS budget.  We all know how well the IRS spends its money.

Then Terry did his last talk of our cruise (he gets off in Amsterdam) about The Netherlands.  The actual name is The Kingdom of The Netherlands, but it's often called Holland, which is actually only the two provinces to the West.  The people are often referred to as Dutch or Netherlanders.  It's all very confusing.

Lunch was a Spanish buffet at the Pool Grill.  It's sunny, but a bit chilly, so I decided to get in the hot tub for a bit.  I haven't had my swimsuit on since we were in Reykjavik in June.  I hope to be getting into it more often in the coming weeks as we are going south and it might be quite warm pretty soon.

Tonight was the Krew Kapers show again which is done at the end of each segment.  So far, it's always the same basic show with a few changes here and there as crew members change.  Some of them are really talented but they all are very enthusiastic and fun.  Then a nice dinner at Compass Rose and back to the cabin.  Tonight's show is a production number called Broadway in Concert and I'm retty sure we saw it before.
