At Sea

Breakfast was at Compass Rose since it was a sea day and the slower service is not a problem then.  I tried the avocado toast with the poached egg cooked medium and it was very good.  Spent a little while at Coffee Connection before going to the second lecture by the producer Steven Rivellino.  This time it was a focus on Bob Fosse which was very well done - organized and interesting.  This afternoon was another talk by Dr. Stephen Wessley titled "In Search of Christopher Columbus" which was disorganized and sort of interesting.  It's enlightening to be able to compare the two speakers' styles.

I finished my book, "Thunderstruck", which is too bad because it was very good.  But I have a couple more on my device and there's also a pretty good library onboard.

Best not to discuss Trivia.  We're beginning to think we should lobby for the prize for the losingest team.  Tonight was our last Captain's Party for Seven Seas Society members.  According to the Cruise Consultant, there are 409 passengers aboard which is 95% full.  Somehow we get differing numbers all the time.  That 95% number works if you figure that they kept the 22 cabins on Deck 5 out of inventory for quarantine purposes.  That has now been opened up, but it's not clear to us if anyone is in those cabins.  We aren't down there enough to see comings and goings. The party isn't much (a few speeches, thank yous and a short number by the ship's singers and dancers) especially when it's your 6th one, but on those days they have the miso-glazed sea bass on the menu, which I think is the best dish they have.  And tonight they gave out some pins to several of the crew who have achieved 5 and 10 years with Regent, including the Captain.  We skipped the show again.
