Due to unfavorable tides and winds, we were a little bit late into Molde (pronounced Mold-ah) but it didn't matter. The sail in was in the midst of the beautiful Norwegian fjords and the weather was OK, so it was fine. While we were enjoying a coffee at the Coffee Connection, there was another Code Mike call up at Prime 7. They open that restaurant if La Veranda gets full at breakfast. That's where the last Code Mike was called also and that turned out OK, so hopefully this one is something similar and will be OK also.
There's not a whole lot going on here. Our tour was a 2-hour "highlights" which included a trip up to the top of a mountain to see the views and then a stop at a local open-air museum for a look around and a short performance of traditional dances by the local traditional dance group that has been in existence since 1928.

These very sleek ferries run all over the area frequently.
|
Molde is known as the Rose City so they are everywhere. The climate is mild enough for them.

Beautiful homes all over the area.

No smiles from the dancers, but I think they were having fun.

Molde and the surrounding islands have about 30,000 people
After the tour, we walked down the main drag. It's a pretty small city center and we were docked right there, which was nice. We had lunch (burger for Michael, salmon poke bowl for me) and a couple of beers. Then just a bit of window shopping. I couldn't convince Michael to get the ball cap that said "Fjord Explorer" on it. If I looked OK in ball caps, I would have gotten it.
By then it was raining so we headed back to the ship. Another Trivia miss. We decided to order a pizza from room service and watched the movie "American Underdog" which was really good. Then we went to the show which was the second show by "The Other Guys", this time it was a tribute to the Legends. They are good, but once again the background music was a bit too loud and it wasn't even the live band so it should have been easy to adjust that.
The Captain warned us of another bumpy night, so we'll strap ourselves into bed and hope for the best. We also get to turn our clocks back an hour finally.
